From Manchester Airport yesterday, 10/04/10.

Reasonably clear skies today allowed for some chilly contrail spotting.

It took me ages to get this photo. I needed my camera with me at the exact time my cat was contemplating yawning and then get it set up in time. I managed it though.
Big teeth.

Reasonably easy to photograph when just walking around.

Here I got a photo of a PVC salesmen trying to sell Monarch Airlines new gutters for their A321.

My two batteries have lasted me thousands of photos and only take a few hours each to charge.
It’s quite hard to take a quality photo of an aircraft 30,000ft – 40,000ft above your head from the ground. I ALWAYS shoot in TV mode, I hate auto because you never learn anything from it. It’s quite challenging for me (as a newbie to the SLR world – 4 months en counting) to get it all set up to shoot correctly and etc. Also, as I only have 125mm at my disposal, generally the aircraft are only visible in a few pixels of my LCD, as they are 10.1MP though you can usually get a positive ID on aircraft type/airline after some cropping and re-sizing.
